Except for the fact that it wasn't a mystery.
Sharli's hubby Dan is the assistant manager at a new restaurant that is opening up, Elements.
During their soft opening, they needed people to help give the waiters experience. Sharli and I got to go be our awkward selves and help.
We just moved from table to table and got new waiters throughout the night. We placed fake orders that involved crazy alcoholic beverages, black and blue steaks (sick), and asked all sorts of questions about the menu.
For our hard work we were rewarded with mass amounts of food. We had bread, these ridiculously awesome breadsticks that were spicy and so tasty, our entrees (yes, I did order an entire bird), and a delicious s'mores dessert. Also, the raspberry lemonade was probably the best ever.
That's a small portion of the food that we were served.
It pays to know people.
